Create static page templates

Use page templates to create a consistent style and structure on your site.

We’re transitioning to a new UI, and are in the process of updating our Webflow University content.

How to create a static page template

To create a new static page template in the Pages panel, click the “Create new page” icon, then click Create static page template. Then, you can give your template a name and description and manage all page settings (e.g., access control, SEO, etc.). The pages you create from this page template inherit the settings you set here.

When you’re finished adding your page settings, click Create to save your page template. You can update your static page template settings at any time in the Pages panel.

Note: Static page limits differ depending on your Site plan. Template pages, as well as branched, User, Ecommerce, Collection, and Utility pages, don’t count against the static page limit. You can add a maximum of 40 template pages to your site.

Once you’ve created your new static page template page, you can design it however you want. You can also localize your content, styles, and page settings on static page templates.

How to create a new page from a static page template

To create a new page from a static page template, go to Pages panel > Static page templates, hover over the name of the static page template you want to create a page from, and click the “plus” icon.

You can also create a new page by clicking the “Create new page” icon, going to Page settings > General section and choosing the name of the static page template you want to create a page from the Template dropdown.

If you want to override the page settings from the template on your new page, you can edit your page settings.
