Duplicate a site

Learn how to create a duplicate copy of your site.

We’re transitioning to a new UI, and are in the process of updating our Webflow University content.

You may wish to duplicate a Webflow site to serve as a reusable template for future sites or a sandbox for testing and experimentation.

You can duplicate a site from your Dashboard or Site settings.

Good to know: When you duplicate a site, the site, styles, pages, assets, CMS Collections and items, Ecommerce products and categories, secondary locales, custom code, custom fonts, favicon, and web clip are all copied to the new duplicate site. You can edit the subdomain and name of the duplicate site after it has been created. You can choose whether to copy hosting, SEO, and integration settings to the duplicate site.
Important: When you duplicate a site, all site-wide configurations such as form notification settings, form submissions, form settings, reCAPTCHA keys, backup versions, site members, content editors, Logic credentials (i.e., API keys), and billing will be reset to default.
Note: When you duplicate a site with secondary locales, locales are automatically disabled on the duplicate. To re-enable management and publishing of secondary locales, you’ll need to purchase a Site plan and Localization add-on plan for the duplicate site.

To duplicate a site from your Dashboard:

  1. Go to your Dashboard
  2. Click the “3 disclosure dots” under your site’s thumbnail
  3. Choose Duplicate from the menu
  4. Choose the settings you want to copy over to the duplicate site (i.e., hosting settings, SEO settings, and/or integration settings)
  5. Click Duplicate site

To duplicate a site from Site settings:

  1. Go to Site settings
  2. Click the “duplicate” icon in the top bar
  3. Choose the settings you want to copy over to the duplicate site (i.e., hosting settings, SEO settings, and/or integration settings)
  4. Click Duplicate site
Note: If you wish to duplicate a site that uses a premium template, you’ll need to repurchase the template for the duplicate site. Learn more about templates.
