Upload an Apple associated domain file
Upload an associated domain file to verify your domain on the Apple App Store.
Upload an associated domain file to verify your domain on the Apple App Store.
If you host your site with Webflow and have an app in Apple’s App Store, you can upload an Apple associated domain file to your Webflow site, which will then appear in the /.well-known
folder of your domain. This enables universal links that allow your site visitors to navigate to content in your app from your site, or vice versa — creating a seamless experience between the app and browser.
In this lesson, you’ll learn:
How to upload an associated domain file
Before you get started: Visit Apple’s documentation to learn how to create and structure your associated domain file. Note that you’ll create the associated domain file based on your default domain, since all domains connected to your Webflow site redirect to the domain you set as the default.
To upload an associated domain file to your Webflow site:
- Create an associated domain file named
apple-app-site-association.txt
- Open your site in the Webflow Designer and go to the Assets panel
- Upload your associated domain file
- Publish your site
Important: In Webflow, you must name your fileapple-app-site-association.txt
with thetxt
file extension. Otherwise, the file will not appear in the/.well-known
folder.
Once you publish your site, the file will be available at the address Apple recommends (e.g., https://yourdomain.com/.well-known/apple-app-site-association
).
How to replace, update, or delete an associated domain file
If you need to replace or make a change to your associated domain file, you can upload a new associated domain file with the same name (i.e., apple-app-site-association.txt
) and publish your site.
To remove an associated domain file from your site, delete the file in the Assets panel.
