Manage your email address(es) for your Webflow account
Update or move your email address from one Webflow account to another.
You can change the email associated with your Webflow account in your profile settings. Email notifications will be sent to this updated email address. Note that you can’t use an email address associated with another Webflow account.
How to update your email address (if you don’t use Google SSO)
First, make sure you’re logged in to your account. To update the email address associated with your Webflow account:
- Click the Account dropdown menu in the navbar
- Open Account settings > Email settings > Update email address
- Type in your new email address
- Type in your current password
- Type in your two-factor authentication code (if it’s enabled)
- Click Save changes
Once you save the changes, you’ll receive a verification email to both your original email address and your updated email address to confirm the update.
How to update your email address (if you use Google SSO)
First, make sure you’re logged into Google with the same email address you use for Webflow. Then:
- Click the Account dropdown menu in the navbar
- Go to Account settings > Email settings > Update email address
- Click the email account that matches your current Webflow account in the Authenticate with Google section (rather than the email you’re updating to)
- Log in with Google
- Click Save changes
Once you save the changes, you’ll receive a verification email to both your original email address and your updated email address to confirm the update.
Important: You must authenticate with your current Webflow account email to update your email address.
How to use a secondary email address
You can add a secondary email address to your account, which can help if you lose your 2-factor authentication device and related backup codes. Secondary email addresses can't be used to log in or reset your account password. Note that you can’t use an email address associated with another Webflow account as your secondary email address.
Add a secondary email address
- Click the Account dropdown menu in the navbar
- Go to Account settings > Email & notifications > Secondary email address
- Click Add secondary email
- Input your email address in the email address field
- Click Add email
- Complete the verification process in the email sent to your secondary email address
Update your secondary email address
- Click the Account dropdown menu in the navbar
- Go to Account settings > Email & notifications > Secondary email address
- Input your new email address in the new email field
- Input your password and two-factor authentication code (if enabled)
- Click Update email
- Complete the verification process in the email sent to your original secondary email address
Remove your secondary email address
- Click the Account dropdown menu in the navbar
- Go to Account settings > Email & notifications > Secondary email address
- Click Remove
- Input your password and two-factor authentication code (if enabled)
- Click Remove secondary email
- Complete the verification process in the email sent to your secondary email address
How to move an email address from one account to another
If you want to move one of your email addresses (e.g., [email protected]) from Account A to Account B:
- Update and replace the email address for Account A (e.g., [email protected] changes to [email protected])
- Verify the email change through the verification email you'll receive once you request the update. If you have a secondary email address, you'll need to verify with your secondary email address as well
- Update the email address for Account B with the original email address from Account A (e.g., [email protected])
