Publishing in Webflow

Publishing is the moment your team’s work becomes real for your visitors.

On a small team, that can be simple: make a change, review it, publish it.

On a larger team, there’s more to coordinate. More people may be editing the site at the same time. Some changes might be ready to ship while others are still in progress. And the people who can build or edit the site might not all need the same level of publishing access.

Webflow gives your team tools to manage all of that, so you can control what goes live, when it goes live, and who can send it there.

Feature access depends on your plan. Some workflows in this course are only available on Platform plans. See our pricing page to learn more about our plans.

Hosting with Webflow

Webflow hosts your site as part of the platform, so there’s no separate hosting server to configure.

Publishing is the action that makes your changes available on that hosted site. Throughout this course, you’ll focus on making that move deliberately: choosing what gets published, reviewing changes before they go live, and making sure the right people have access to publish them.

What you’ll learn

In this course, you’ll learn how to:

  1. Choose between full-site, single-page, and CMS item publishing
  2. Use staging to review changes before they reach production
  3. Keep unfinished work from going live
  4. Control publishing access across your team
  5. Review publishing activity after changes go live

You’ll also use the Build & launch checklist to prepare for your first full-site publish, so you have a repeatable way to verify that your site and your team are ready before launch.

By the end, you’ll have a clear framework for deciding not just how to publish, but what should go live, when, and by whom.

Who this course is for

This course is for Site Managers, Designers, and other team members involved in publishing a Webflow site.
