JSON-LD
JSON-LD (JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data) is a structured data format that describes what's on a page in a way machines can read directly, separate from the page's visible content. It's typically added as a script in the page's head, telling search engines and AI crawlers things like what type of content a page is (an article, a product, an event) and its key details.
Structured data like JSON-LD is what powers rich results in search, like star ratings or recipe times showing up directly in search listings, and it's increasingly important for AEO, since AI answer engines rely on the same clear, machine-readable signals to cite content accurately.
