Translation inheritance

Translation inheritance

Translation inheritance is when a secondary locale automatically mirrors the primary locale's content, field by field, until someone manually translates a specific field. Once that field is edited in the secondary locale, it stops inheriting future changes made to the primary locale for that field only, since it now holds its own translated version.

This lets you localize only what's actually changed instead of every field on a page, and it's why editing one field in a locale doesn't accidentally freeze the entire page from receiving future updates.
