Add Google Analytics to your Webflow site to gain valuable information about user behavior. Google Analytics provides powerful metrics, like how many users and page views your site gets, where your site traffic comes from, how long people stay on your site, and how many of them leave a site page without clicking other links (bounce rate).
Setting up Google Analytics in Webflow lets you track visitor behavior on your site — page views, sessions, traffic sources, conversions, and more. In this video, we'll walk through how to connect Google Analytics to your Webflow site.
First, you'll need a Google Analytics account and a property set up for your site. If you're using Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which is the current version, you'll get a Measurement ID that looks like G-XXXXXXXXXX.
To add it to your Webflow site, go to your site settings and find the Integrations tab. There's a dedicated field for Google Analytics where you can paste your Measurement ID. Once you save and publish your site, the Google Analytics tracking code will be included on every page automatically.
Alternatively, you can add the Google Analytics tracking snippet manually through Webflow's custom code settings — either site-wide in the head tag (via Site Settings > Custom Code) or on specific pages if you only want to track certain sections.
After setup, it typically takes a day or two for data to start populating in your Google Analytics dashboard. You can verify the connection is working by using the real-time report in Google Analytics and visiting your site to see if traffic is being recorded.
If you need to track specific events — like button clicks, form submissions, or video plays — you'll need to set up custom event tracking using Google Tag Manager or by adding custom JavaScript through Webflow's custom code options.
