If you have a Professional or Team plan, you can transfer projects from one Webflow account to another, or from your individual dashboard to any of your team Dashboards. Anyone can transfer a project to and from a Team if they are a member of that Team regardless of their individual account plan.
To transfer a project, click the transfer icon in your project settings. Then, choose where to transfer the project: to a user or to a team. The project will be immediately transferred to the user or team you specify.
To transfer the project to another user, enter the email address of their Webflow account, then confirm and perform the transfer.
Transfer the project to a team
To transfer a project to one of your teams, select the team from the dropdown menu in the transfer window and confirm the transfer.
If you want to transfer a project to a team that you're not a member of, transfer the project to a user who is a member of that team. And they'll be able to transfer the project to their team from their dashboard.
Let's say you own multiple individual Webflow accounts and you belong to different teams on each account. If you want to transfer a project between teams on these separate accounts, first transfer the project to your other account. Then, transfer it to the team on that account.
Transfer a hosted project
Because you can't directly transfer a project with an active hosting subscription, you can transfer a duplicate of the project. We recommend the following steps to ensure the minimal amount of downtime between transferring the custom domain:
There will be a bit of downtime when doing taking these steps — it will be equal to the time it takes to complete steps 3 through 5. These steps can typically be completed in a minute or less as the DNS settings don’t need to be configured again.
Duplicating a project resets all project-wide configurations and settings to default. This means form submissions, Google Analytics ID and previous versions are not included along with the duplicated project.
If you want to include form submissions, Google Analytics ID and previous versions with the transfer, cancel the hosting on the original project, transfer the original project, add a new hosting plan, add the custom domain.
Must know — what is included and what is not included in the transfer
Included: When you transfer a Webflow project, all your work in the Designer is transferred to the new dashboard. This includes styles, pages, content (including CMS content), and custom code.
Included: Information such as assets, versions, custom fonts, form submissions, and other project settings are also transferred to the new Dashboard when the original project is transferred.
Not included: For security and privacy reasons, the following configurations are reset to default and therefore not transferred with your project: custom domain, hosting subscriptions, collaborators, form notification information, Typekit Fonts, billing, and any other account or email specific information.
Not included: When transferring duplicates of projects form submissions, Google Analytics ID and previous versions will not be included in the transfer.
